I have been watching the lib dem conference and can't help but notice how poor Menzies Campbell comes across. He does not seem to have the right personality to become the leader of a political party, and seems to struggle with the media. I don't think that an ability to deal with the media is of utmost importance, but in this age politicians need to be able to come across as people whom you would vote for, and i have not got that feel about the lib dem leader.
Age equals wisdom, but it does tend to alienate younger voters who want to see someone who is nearer their own age and is experiencing problems of the time. Even though Mr Campbell has the wisdom and experiences, they happened in the generation that my granny lived in, not really appropriate for todays generation.
